National Geographic's Book of Nature Poetry, is divided into eight sections:
Classes could be divided into eight groups to become experts on each section. They could pick their favorites or rank the poems and photography. Students could research some of the aspects of nature addressed in each section.
Walking on Earth &Touching the Sky (poetry and prose by Lakota Youth at Red Cloud Indian School) is divided into five chapters.
Students could select their favorite poem from each section and/or create their own for one of the sections.
Students could research the Lakota tribe or tribes throughout Wisconsin.
Memorial High School's inaugural literary magazine, written and illustrated by Memorial High School students for last year's Fine Arts Night event. Prose, poetry and art designed around the theme "Home."
MHS Fanzine (Last year’s Fine Arts Night collection of student work), students can think about this year's Fine Arts Night theme: The Transformative Power of Nature.
They could quick write, write poems, create artwork, select poems from the other book walks that could fit this theme, or compare and contrast last year's theme "Home" to this year's theme.
