How to Access SMS Destiny Discover

Login from the right hand corner

and then, log in with ECASD Blue Button


 

Search the Catalog

Use Search Bar to find item(s) in the Library. 

Use the Record Number to find out if the item is available and where it is on the shelf.

Search Other Libraries:

  • The default search is your school’s library

  • To search all schools: This filter will show you items at other schools. Be aware that other schools may have items that you wont be able to hold.    

  •  

Hold Item(s)

Log into your account, then then go to the menu and My Stuff > Holds

  • Pick up holds at the library 

  • Items are held for one week

To place a hold:

  1. Search for the book you'd like 

  2. In the search results page, click the "Hold" link at the bottom
    left of the book cover

Renew Item(s)

Log into your account, then then go to the menu and My Stuff > Checkouts

  1. Click on the three dots at the bottom
    right of the item you'd like to renew

  2. Select the "Renew" link

  3. If you are unable to renew online,
    please bring the item to the library
    for renewal

  4. Log into your account, then then go to the menu and My Stuff > Checkouts

  5. Click on the three dots at the bottom
    right of the item you'd like to renew

  6. Select the "Renew" link

  7. If you are unable to renew online,
    please bring the item to the library
    for renewal

View Fine(s) and Account

Log into your account, then then go to the menu and My Stuff > Checkouts

  • Due dates are listed next to the Items

  • Return items to the library when due

To View Fines

  • Fines also list items that are significantly overdue

  • Return items to get rid of fines

  • Pay fines with cash or check in the library

  • Pay fines with a card in My School Bucks

See History

Log into your account, then then go to the menu and My Stuff > History

  • Shows all the books you have previously checked out at the library...back to the start of Destiny Discover (July 2023)

Favorite An Item

Log into your account, then then go to the menu and My Stuff > Favorites

  • Shows a list of the books that
    you have saved for future reference

To add a book to your favorites:

  1. Search for titles

  2. Click the three dots at the bottom right of the book cover you'd
    like to favorite

  3. Select "Favorite"

Questions About Library Accounts

Where do I return stuff?

The library has a Drop Box in the 6th Grade House, Outside both Library Doors and a Bin inside the Library. Students have access to dropping off items all day. 

Please do not put technology items in the drop boxes; instead, hand them to a library staff member for check-in.

I have a library book that I am being charged for as "lost," but I still have it. Can I return it instead of paying for it?

Yes, please do! Drop it off in one of the library return bins, and it will be removed from your fines.

How do I pay a fine?

Cash or check payments are taken in the library at the main desk. Checks can be made out to “ECASD.” 

If you'd like to pay with a card, please log into your My School Bucks (lunch) account and pay for it there. That account will sync with the fines in your library account. Need Help with My School Bucks? Click Here

What about paying for a tech fine?

That is also through the library or My School Bucks, with the same steps as above.

What happens if I don't pay a fine?

The fine stays on your account until it is taken care of, and it may limit your ability to check out additional items from the library. 

It is also emailed to your family and shows in your My School Bucks (lunch and school fees) account. 

What if my family is unable to pay the fine?

If payment is a significant hardship for your family, please reach out to your school principal, and they will help you problem-solve a solution. The Library staff cannot remove Tech fines without approval from the principal.
