ECASD 6th Grade Social Studies Research Project: Noodletools: Creating citations and Taking Notes

Look For Citations

Why do you need to cite your sources?

  • If the words and ideas did not come from you, you need to give credit to the people that did write it!
  • It tells your readers where they can go to learn more about the topic.
  • It helps you avoid plagiarism - a big word for letting others think the ideas and words came from you. Plagiarism can lead to consequences, for e.g. 0 points and/or being asked to redo your work.
