A Libguide on How to Libguide

What is Libguides?

LibGuides is a Content Management System created by librarians for libraries.

You use it to curate information by creating Guides (a webpages or pages) for any topic, assignment, class, or resource.

Examples:

  • a book list on social-emotional titles

  • a research pathfinder for National History Day

  • a how-to on using Ensemble

  • a training guide for a new media clerk

  • your whole library website

Why Use Libguides?

  • Responsive

  • Embeddable - teachers can link or embed into Canvas

  • Multimedia - can easily insert links, databases, online resources, and link to books in our catalog

  • Reusable - easy to copy resources, sections, or even whole guides from your guides, other ECASD MTIS, or the Libguide community

  • Add a resource once and it's there to reuse

  • Stats and DATA

  • Friendly URLs

  • Print-Friendly - no more creating things in two formats

  • Teaching tools - polls, surveys
